DESCRIPTION:At this drop-in\, courthouse-based clinic\, lawyers consult with low income renters on a first-come\, first-serve basis. The clinic serves individuals who are in danger of losing their housing due to situations ranging from mobile home park closures to foreclosures against landlords. Other issues include illegal evictions\, lockouts\, termination of utilities\, seizure of personal property\, and illegal lease or month-to-month tenancy agreements. Evictions are reviewed to determine if tenant has an arguable defense.​This free consultation service can include: information about tenant-landlord laws; document review and advice; representation; and negotiation with landlord’s attorney.
