Our mission is to provide free civil legal assistance to low-income Whatcom County residents by linking them with attorney and community volunteers.

Upcoming Legal Clinics 

Debt Collection Clinic at Whatcom County Courthouse

The 1st and 3rd Friday every month at Whatcom District Court, located at 311 Grand Avenue, 4th floor, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Upcoming clinics:   March 1st and March 15th

Clients must meet financial eligibility requirements. 

Free legal assistance for low-income debtors. Assistance restricted to lawsuits related to Debt Collection, Garnishment (not for child support), Medical Debts, and Charity Care.

*Bring documents, including court documents, letters from creditors and collections, and bill statements.

Street Law at Whatcom Community College

Street Law at Bellingham Public Library.

Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, from 10:30 a.m.: Bellingham Public Library – Central Location.

Wills and Power of Attorney Clinic

Free assistance with simple wills and powers of attorney for seniors (60+), people living with a terminal illness, and/or people with disabilities in Whatcom County. Call 360-671-6079 to learn more. Clients must meet financial eligibility requirements. 

Kinship Custody Clinic

Free self-help clinic for those seeking a non-parental custody order for a relative or other child. Get assistance with court papers from a family law lawyer and paralegal. Call (360)671-6079 for eligibility requirements and more information. 

Drop-In Clinic at Northwest Youth Services
