About the Gala for Justice
The Gala for Justice is LAW Advocates’ premier annual fundraising event, bringing together over 170 members of Whatcom County’s legal, business, and civic communities in a shared commitment to advancing equal access to civil legal aid. Held each fall, this signature evening celebrates the vital role legal advocacy plays in building a more just and equitable community—while raising essential funds to support our programs.
This year’s Gala will take place on October 15, 2026, at Four Points by Sheraton in Bellingham. Attendees include attorneys, judges, and justice advocates who are deeply engaged in community service and systemic change. The Gala features powerful storytelling, community recognition, and opportunities for connection and partnership.

LAW Advocates is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring equal access to justice for all, regardless of income. Since 1987, we have connected low-income individuals and families in Whatcom County with free civil legal assistance through volunteer attorneys and community-based programs. Our work focuses on critical issues including family law, domestic violence, youth advocacy, and partnerships that honor tribal sovereignty —empowering people to resolve crises and build more stable futures.
